The assignment: fly to Jamaica then journey for an hour via motor coach to the tranquil coastal retreat of Negril, where we will fete and feast at a super-decadent epicurean experience. This four-day event is in its 10th year and is a collaboration with Food & Wine magazine. It showcases a melting pot of American and Caribbean culinary talents, as well as various international chefs from Grand Lido’s sister properties. Included in each guest’s nightly room rate are: interactive cooking classes with celebrated chefs preparing dishes with local ingredients, wine and champagne tutorials, and a frenzied cook-off with humor drizzled on every serving. There are an abundance of engaging culinary experiences that assure guests have little idle time, and rarely see an empty plate. Each night the Grand Lido Negril team displays its flare for hosting by offering themed dinner events: a beach bash, poolside buffet, and a gala with white glove service.
